Summary for Sfpi Group Carbon Footprint 2025

Introduction

Founded in 1985, SFPI Group is a European industrial group specializing in the design and development of technical and technological solutions that ensure the safety of buildings, living and working spaces, and industrial processes. Organized around four areas of expertise—Sfpi Access, Sfpi Home, Sfpi Air, and Sfpi Heat—the group works every day to create a safer, healthier, and more resilient world.

As climate challenges grow, SFPI Group places corporate responsibility and environmental performance at the heart of its development strategy. Through its transformation plan, the Group is committed to sustainably reducing the environmental footprint of its operations, products, and value chain. This commitment is made clear, in particular, by the annual Carbon Footprint Assessment using the Toovalu tool, which enables the Group to measure, manage, and reduce its greenhouse gas emissions.

Results

These are the results of the Sfpi Group’s GHG emissions for the year 2025.

This is equivalent to:

  • 34,737 trips around the world by car.
  • 1,029,257 homes heated each year in France.
  • 135,000 round-trip flights between Paris and New York for one passenger.

Emissions breakdown by Scope
2 % Scope 1 4 % Scope 2 54 % Scope 3 - upstream 40 % Scope 3 - downstream
  • 2 % Scope 1
  • 4 % Scope 2
  • 54 % Scope 3 - upstream
  • 40 % Scope 3 - downstream

The SFPI Group’s GHG emissions in 2025 are mainly concentrated in Scope 3 (94%), particularly in upstream emissions (54%), which correspond to impacts generated outside the Group’s sites through the purchase of raw materials, components, equipment, services, and transportation activities.

Analysis

Operations and Site Functioning
41 % Building energy 18 % Facilities and infrastructure 16 % Direct energy sources (gas, fuels and cooling generation) 15 % Business travel 10 % Waste generation
  • 41 % Building energy
  • 18 % Facilities and infrastructure
  • 16 % Direct energy sources (gas, fuels and cooling generation)
  • 15 % Business travel
  • 10 % Waste generation

These emissions come mainly from the consumption of electricity and natural gas for heating buildings (55 GWh in 2025) as well as from equipment and infrastructure acquired during the year. They also include direct energy use related to industrial processes and vehicles (800,000 liters of diesel and 5.68 GWh of process gas), as well as business travel and waste.

Procurement, Transport and Mobility
79 % Raw material procurement 9 % Procurement of services 8 % Upstream freight transport 4 % Employee commuting
  • 79 % Raw material procurement
  • 9 % Procurement of services
  • 8 % Upstream freight transport
  • 4 % Employee commuting

These emissions are mostly related to purchases of raw materials, particularly metals and metal products (12,000 tons of metals and €43 million worth of metal products), mainly steel and aluminum. They also come from services and general operating expenses, upstream freight transportation, and our employees’ commutes.

Product marketing and downstream impacts
80 % Use 10 % Product end-of-life 10 % Distribution of finished products
  • 80 % Use
  • 10 % Product end-of-life
  • 10 % Distribution of finished products

The product use phase by customers is the Group’s main source of downstream emissions. These emissions are largely related to the energy consumption of autoclaves and industrial fans (1,500 GWh). They also include the impacts associated with the distribution of finished products and their end-of-life treatment.

Action Plan

In its Strategic Compass, the SFPI Group has set out a roadmap for decarbonization and has committed to reducing its GHG emissions by 35% by 2030, compared to 2023.
